Ponderosa High School in Shingle Springs was evacuated on Friday morning because of an emailed bomb threat, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The sheriff’s office said students were evacuated out of an abundance of caution and Ponderosa Road at Mineshaft Lane and Meder Road was closed during a search of the facility.
At approximately 11:00 a.m the department reported that search had concluded, and no suspicious packages or explosive devices were located. The school was released to the staff and the roads were reopened. The source of the threat is remaining an active investigation.
