Some may feel like summer is a time to relax and regroup, but I’ve always believed opportunities abound all year. This summer proves my point, as we’ve had one of our most successful Pro Rodeos to date and several new events, partnerships, and business programs. Here are some of the highlights.
CRE Broker Roundtable Wrap Up
We recently held a new event for us in partnership with the 50 Economic Alliance. The Hwy 50 Corridor CRE Broker Roundtable allowed the Greater Sacramento Economic Council (GSEC) to share valuable business information with us in an informal real-time setting. We had a great turnout, and GSEC’s presentation was well-received. It was a great test run for future collaborations with GSEC and other regional entities.
Johnny Cash Trail Receives Funding
There’s some great news out of the capital for Folsom. Thanks to the efforts of Folsom resident and California State Assemblyman Josh Hoover, the recently passed California State Budget includes $425,000 for the Johnny Cash Trail. The funding will support public art along the trail to create a world-class public art experience that celebrates and honors the legendary Johnny Cash.
The trail, which borders Folsom State Prison, connects the American River and Folsom Lake, and Historic Folsom and the Folsom Prison. It’s a terrific pedestrian and Class I bike trail that locals and visitors enjoy. The new funding will further enhance this recreation experience – I’m looking forward to seeing the installations in early 2024.
Third Thursday Pitch Nights Continue
Our partners at the Northern California Innovation District have seen great success with their Pitch Night series, featuring a wide range of early and mid-stage companies and startups. The free event is held at the Granite School on the third Thursday of each month, from 5-6:30 pm. If you’re curious about what it takes to invest in startups or would like to learn more about companies in Greater Sacramento, this is a great place to begin.
This Thursday, July 20, we’ll feature Esteem Health Care and ELEVAI Labs Inc.from 5-6:30 pm at Granite School. It’s exciting to see the increased interest in the companies we are presenting and the connections that are being made.
If you’re unable to join in person, we will be on Zoom at this link.
Meet the Leaders is Back
Our next Meet the Leaders event will be held on Thursday, August 24, from 11:30 am – 1 pm. Besides being a popular place to network, it’s an opportunity to learn from regional leaders about Folsom’s business climate, future developments, and trends to watch.
I invite you to join me next month for a few hours well spent. Register here.
