Fourth day of Amador County Fair wraps up with Destruction Derby, live music, livestock auction and more.

It’s Sunday, and it’s the final day to experience one of Gold Country’s favorite summer traditions. The Amador County Fair is wrapping up its 2025 run today in nearby Plymouth, offering a full lineup of entertainment, arena action, and family fun for one more unforgettable day at “The Happiest Place on Dirt.”

With gates open from 9 a.m. to midnight, Sunday’s schedule includes everything from livestock and garden showcases to carnival rides, live concerts, and the high-energy finale that is the Destruction Derby. Whether you’re a longtime attendee or making a last-minute trip, today is your last chance to take in the fair’s food, flair, and fun before it’s gone for another year.

Sunday kicks off with one of the fair’s most important traditions—the Junior Livestock Auction—where months of hard work come full circle for young exhibitors from 4-H and FFA programs. The auction begins at 10:30 a.m. in the livestock barns and features a lineup that includes beef, ag mechanics, lambs, market goats, rabbits, and swine. Buyers from across the region turn out to support these future agricultural leaders, and it’s an inspiring way to start the day.

Capping off the evening in thrilling fashion is the crowd-favorite Jackson Rancheria Destruction Derby, where modified vehicles go head-to-head in a metal-mashing, tire-squealing battle of survival. Engines roar, fenders fly, and the grandstands come alive with cheers. The derby starts at 6 p.m. in the Benny Brown Arena and is a separately ticketed event that fills fast—so early arrival is recommended for the best seats.

Sunday’s entertainment lineup delivers a full dose of live music on three stages, beginning at 11:30 a.m. with Highway Vagabonds, a Miranda Lambert tribute band performing throughout the afternoon on the Biagi Bandstand. Evening performances include The Kool Shifters on the Coors Stage at 6, 8, and 10 p.m., while Ride Captain Ride brings classic rock sets to the Biagi Bandstand at 6:30, 8:30, and 10:30 p.m. The Picnic Hill stage comes alive with the high-energy Latin sounds of La Sonora San Jose, playing at 7:30 and again at 9:30 p.m., closing out the weekend with rhythm and flair.

Sunday is your last chance to enjoy the carnival rides, midway games, and all the deep-fried delights the fair has to offer. The carnival opens at noon and runs through the evening, with unlimited ride wristbands available for $42. Food vendors across the fairgrounds will be serving up fan favorites like corn dogs, funnel cakes, barbecue, lemonade, and more.

Even on closing day, the fair’s living history exhibits continue to charm. Visitors can stop by Frontier Town, catch a final blacksmith demonstration, or take in one more steam-powered sawmill demo near the Gas Engine Corner. Antique tractor parades also roll through the grounds throughout the day, offering a last glimpse of the working history that defines this fair.

With perfect summer weather, great entertainment, and that unmistakable fairground energy, today is the perfect time for one last adventure. Whether you’re bidding at the Junior Livestock Auction, watching the sparks fly at the Destruction Derby, or catching your favorite band with a cold drink in hand, the Amador County Fair is sending off the weekend with a bang.
