Easter weekend is upon us, and local congregations are preparing to welcome the community with a wide variety of services and celebrations. From lakeside sunrises to candlelit vigils and egg-filled afternoons, Folsom and El Dorado Hills churches are offering diverse ways to commemorate the holiday. Lakeside Churchbegins its weekend with a Good Friday service on April 18 at 12:00 p.m. at Oak Hills Church, 1100 Blue Ravine Road. Easter celebrations continue on Saturday, April 19, with services at 4:00 and 6:00 p.m., each followed by Easter egg hunts. On Sunday, April 20, services will be held at 8:00, 9:30, and 11:00 a.m., each followed by a “Party on the Patio” featuring food, drinks, baptisms, and community gathering. Bridge Community Churchwill host a multi-day experience titled “Journey to the Resurrection” from April 16 through 19, featuring live worship and reflection from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. each night. The community is also invited to theBeals Point Sunrise Serviceat Folsom Lake, which celebrates its 64th year on Easter Sunday, April 20. The non-denominational service, hosted by the Williams family, takes place at 6:30 a.m. at Beals Point Recreation Area, 7806 Auburn Folsom Road.
