Folsom Police are now sharing information with the community in regards to a recent call made to a local elementary school, after reports of a man taking photos and acting suspicious, resulting in his arrest for an outstanding warrant for illegal firearm charges

According to the Folsom Police Department, they received the initial call just after 9 am on Monday. The reporting party stated there was a suspicious man on the school grounds of Blanche Sprentz Elementary School located at 249 Flower Drive in Folsom. According to the report, officers responded to the school and located the man, identified as Peining Wang, 62, of Folsom.  Upon questioning Wang, officers recognized him from prior calls of suspicious activity, similar to this incident, according to the report.

Upon their investigation on scene, Folsom Police Officers learned that the suspect had a warrant for possession of an assault weapon. Wang was arrested for the outstanding warrant and booked into the Sacramento County Jail. In their report, Folsom Police note that Wang was not armed and did not commit any other crime while on campus.

Folsom Police explained that the outstanding warrant Wang was arrested for stemmed from a firearm that Wang had turned in to the Folsom Police department months earlier, which was later determined to be an illegal weapon.
