Multiple units from the City of Folsom Fire Department and the El Dorado Hills Fire Department are on the scene of a medical emergency on the roof of a Folsom restaurant that required a skilled rescue effort late Tuesday morning.
The rescue effort is underway at the the building that houses Mikuni Sushi, located on Placerville Road. At 11:26 a.m. units were dispatched to assist a construction worker who had fallen down on the roof of the building and suffered an extensive arm injury, according to Folsom’s Fire’s Division Chad Wilson on the scene.
A total of six different units have been dispatched to the scene since the first call came in. Dispatched units include Folsom Battalion Chief unit 15, Engine 37, Truck 35, Medic 37 and El Dorado Hills Truck 85 which was dispatched to assist with the technical rescue.
As of 12:10 p.m., firefighters on the roof were preparing to lower the injured worker to the ground where he could be further assisted.
At 12:44 p.m. the victim was lowered to the ground using a cable and rope system attached to Folsom’s Truck 35 where he was transported for medical care.
