Russell Ranch, Riverview STEM, and Blanche Sprentz Elementary earn statewide recognition for academic excellence

Three schools in the Folsom Cordova Unified School District have been recognized among California’s top-performing institutions in the 11th Annual Educational Results Partnership (ERP) Honor Roll program. Russell Ranch Elementary, Riverview STEM Elementary, and Blanche Sprentz Elementary were each named to the 2025 California Honor Roll, joining a distinguished list of schools that have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement and progress in closing achievement gaps.

The annual Honor Roll, presented by Educational Results Partnership in collaboration with business and education leaders across the state, celebrates schools and districts that have outperformed their peers in helping all students succeed. This year, 1,834 schools and 158 districts were recognized, representing about 21 percent of California’s total.

ERP, a nonprofit organization that uses data science to improve student outcomes, compiled the 2025 Honor Roll based on California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) Smarter Balanced test results from 2023 through 2025. The analysis highlighted schools demonstrating consistently strong performance across all student populations, significant academic improvement over time, and measurable progress in reducing disparities among higher-poverty and historically disadvantaged students.

“Business leaders are proud to recognize high-performing schools that are equipping students with the fundamental skills that matter most to employers,” said Dan Kinney, ERP Board Chair. “Even as the world and the workforce rapidly change, these schools are helping students build strong foundations in critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving—skills that will always be essential in any economy.”

ERP Chief Executive Officer James Lanich, Ph.D., added that the Honor Roll acknowledges the educators whose work drives real academic growth. “Many educators across California are already delivering rigorous instruction that equips students with the fundamentals they need to succeed in the workforce and in life,” he said. “The Honor Roll recognizes that work—identifying schools in a diversity of ZIP codes where students of all backgrounds are mastering the core academic skills that will help them thrive in a rapidly changing world of work.”

Educational Results Partnership President Alex Barrios emphasized that the recognition aims to highlight and replicate success stories in public education. “While headlines often focus on how many students are still performing below pre-pandemic levels, we believe data should be used to shine a light on and replicate success,” Barrios said. “Across California, we now know which schools and systems are achieving strong results for students of all backgrounds.”
