For over two decades, the annual Folsom Wine and Jazz event presented by the Folsom High School Music Boosters has been a fixture of a fundraising event for the nonprofit organization. On Friday, April 5, Historic Folsom will host the 23rd edition of this special event, scheduled once again to begin at dusk and conclude beneath the stars.
“We are excited to have the Folsom High School Jazz event back in Historic Folsom for another year,” says Judy Collinsworth, executive director for the Folsom Historic District Association. “This event creates a fun energy here, all for a great cause, and it brings a great group of visitors to enjoy the district before and after.”
Billed as Folsom’s premier annual wine and jazz event, entertainment will be provided by the award-winning Folsom High School jazz bands and jazz choir led by Folsom High Band Director Gaw Williams. Attendees will have the opportunity to taste wines from our local region, sample food and small plates from local restaurants, and browse silent auction tables featuring many exciting items to bid on, all in support of Folsom’s aspiring music students.
The event takes place from 6 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, April 5. According to volunteers from the Folsom Music Boosters, tickets are selling fast at $55 for general admission, which includes tastings from the many local wineries and restaurants throughout the event. The event is for ages 21 and over only, and tickets can be purchased at www.folsommusic.org.
A nonprofit organization established more than 20 years ago, the Music Boosters provide volunteer support for festivals, football games, parades, community events, and fundraising in support of the music programs at Folsom High School.
The Zittel Family Amphitheater is located at 200 Wool Street in Folsom. The city parking garage at 905 Leidesdorff Street provides plenty of parking and a short walk to the event location. For additional information, visit www.folsommusic.org.
