They’re creepy and they’re kooky, mysterious, and spooky. They are the Addams Family and they’re set to come to life at the Harris Center for the Arts in Folsom where tickets are already selling strong for the live stage production by the El Dorado Musical Theatre, which opens on Saturday, July 6.
The Addams Family, a comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family, features an original story centered around every father’s nightmare. Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family—a man her parents have never met.
If that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Gomez Addams must then do something he’s never done before: keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything changes for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.
Originally produced on Broadway by a distinguished lineup of producers, “The Addams Family” musical is presented through special arrangement with Theatrical Rights Worldwide. The book is by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, with music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa, and orchestrations by Larry Hochman. The musical is based on characters created by Charles Addams.
This encore production, featuring performers aged 13 to 22, is by audition only, with special roles available for 11 and 12-year-olds to audition for Pugsley. Directed by Debbie Wilson, with choreography by E.A.
