A local fundraising tradition returns this spring as the Murer House Foundation opens ticket sales for its annual Festa Dinner, a festive evening of Italian culture, cuisine, and community spirit.
Set to take place on Saturday, May 17 from 5 to 7 p.m., this year’s event invites guests to enjoy an authentic Italian family-style dinner in the picturesque gardens of the Murer House, a historic gem in the heart of Folsom. Tickets are $75 per person or $70 for Murer House Foundation members, and attendance is limited to just 80 guests, so early registration is encouraged.
The evening will feature a traditional Italian meal provided by Vince’s Restaurant of Sacramento, a longtime supporter of the event. Guests will enjoy a delicious spread including antipasti, salad, bread, lasagna, chicken marsala, tiramisu, wine and coffee. The event also includes live entertainment by the Bambini Dancers, who will bring a lively cultural flair to the night.
Attendees can look forward to a raffle with exciting prizes, adding another layer of fun to this elegant garden gathering. No outside alcohol is permitted, organizers note, and all proceeds from the evening will go toward supporting the ongoing preservation and educational efforts of the Murer House Learning Center, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting cultural heritage and community engagement.
The Murer House, located on Folsom Boulevard, dates back to 1925 and was the home of Giuseppe “Joe” Murer, a native of Italy who settled in Folsom and became a respected local contractor. Murer not only built the charming Mediterranean-style house, but also designed many notable projects throughout the region. The property includes a restored house, a historic stucco garage, a functioning brick oven, and beautifully landscaped gardens—all maintained to reflect the architecture and traditions of Murer’s Italian heritage.
Today, the Murer House Foundation oversees the property as a living learning center, offering Italian language classes, cooking workshops, gardening demonstrations, and cultural programs that bring the rich history of Italy to life for visitors of all ages.
