Saturday, November 8, the weekend fun continues with an early afternoon highlight as Steelin’ Dan performs at 3 p.m.for Powerhouse’s Saturday Afternoon Dance Party. This seven-piece ensemble, drawn from the renowned 10-piece tribute band that has dominated the Northern California tribute scene for more than two decades, recreates the intricate and jazzy sophistication of Steely Dan’s greatest hits. With rich harmonies, smooth arrangements, and precise musicianship, the group covers fan favorites like “Rikki Don’t Lose That Number,” “Reelin’ In The Years,” and “Do It Again.”

With multiple Sammie Awards and a Hall of Fame induction to their name, Steelin’ Dan brings a rare level of polish and authenticity to their performances, delivering an afternoon that captures both the cool and the complexity of the Steely Dan sound.
The rhythm heats up again Saturday night when East Wind Band returns to Powerhouse at 10 p.m. for a night of old-school funk, soul, R&B, and classic rock. Formed in Sacramento in 1969, East Wind built a loyal following across Northern California with their horn-driven sound reminiscent of Tower of Power, Kool and the Gang, and Earth, Wind & Fire. After a decades-long hiatus, several original members have reunited to revive the band’s trademark groove—an electrifying mix of energy, precision, and nostalgia. Their setlist spans the golden age of funk and soul, featuring crowd favorites that bring audiences to their feet and keep them dancing late into the night. With the addition of powerhouse vocalists and a revitalized rhythm section, East Wind Band delivers a musical experience that blends authenticity with pure fun.

The weekend wraps up Sunday, November 9, with Chrissie O’Dell & The Real Deal taking the stage at 3 p.m. for Powerhouse’s “Powerhouse of Blues” showcase. Often described as “somewhere between Koko Taylor and the soul of Etta James,” O’Dell’s powerful, smoky voice and commanding stage presence have made her a standout performer in Sacramento’s blues scene. Her band, The Real Deal, includes members of the Sacramento Blues Society Hall of Fame—harpist Dave Croall, drummer Pat “Ratatat” Balcom, saxophonist Marty Deradoorian, bassist Liz Peel, and guitarist Dave “Sunshine” Segal—each bringing decades of experience and mastery to the stage.
O’Dell’s performances are raw, soulful, and unrelenting, with every song delivered straight from the heart. Her blend of originals and timeless blues classics makes for an authentic and emotional cap to a powerhouse weekend.
