Come From Away, the heartwarming, critically acclaimed musical that took Broadway by storm, will grace the Harris Center stage from October 22 through October 27. This powerful production tells the true story of 7,000 stranded airline passengers who found solace and unexpected friendships in the small town of Gander, Newfoundland, following the tragic events of September 11, 2001.

The musical, hailed for its emotional storytelling and uplifting message, shows how unease and fear gave way to compassion and trust in the wake of international tragedy. Directed by Tony Award-winner Christopher Ashley, the production captures the spirit of human kindness through a remarkable ensemble performance and evocative music.

Come From Away has received widespread recognition, including Tony, Olivier, and Drama Desk Awards for Best Musical. It has been praised as a “thoroughly entertaining tribute to international amity” (Variety) and an “affecting, stirring, and unpretentious new musical” (Los Angeles Times).

The original Broadway cast recording—nominated for a Grammy Award—remains a fan favorite, with music by Canadian husband-and-wife duo Irene Sankoff and David Hein. Their trip to Gander for the 10th anniversary of 9/11 inspired them to craft a musical that breaks traditional rules by weaving together the equally important stories of the stranded travelers and the townspeople who opened their hearts and homes.

Performances will run from Tuesday, October 22, through Sunday, October 27, with evening shows at 7:30 PM and matinees on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 2 PM. Tickets are available now through the Harris Center Box Office by phone at (916) 608-6888 or online at HarrisCenter.net. The Box Office is open Tuesday through Friday from noon to 5 PM and one hour before showtime.
