Official 2025 winners will be announced Tuesday, Dec 23
FOLSOM — As judging is wrapping up for the 2025 Holiday Lights Contest, and with a break in the rain expected until Christmas Eve, the City of Folsom and Folsom Times are inviting residents to head out across the city to tour this year’s festive displays and enjoy one of the largest collections of holiday light entries the contest has seen.
A total of 60 entries were registered across five categories this year, featuring homes, neighborhoods, and businesses that transformed streets throughout Folsom into glowing holiday destinations. With many displays clustered by neighborhood and several locations entered in multiple categories, organizers encourage residents to plan an evening — or several — to take in the full experience.
The City of Folsom and Folsom Times will announce the winners of the 2025 Holiday Lights Contest on Tuesday at FolsomTimes.com. Category winners will also be formally recognized at an upcoming Folsom City Council meeting, where Folsom Times will present commemorative plaques to each category winner. In addition, Folsom Times will personally deliver the many prizes provided by area businesses to the winning homes, neighborhoods, and businesses following the announcement.
“While we’ll be announcing this year’s winners on Tuesday, every single entry in this year’s Holiday Lights Contest is worth getting out to see,” said Bill Sullivan, publisher and co-owner of Folsom Times. “It’s exciting to watch the participation in this spirited contest grow each year, from individual homes to entire neighborhoods lighting up together. We love partnering with the City of Folsom to help make this tradition happen and to showcase the creativity, pride, and holiday spirit that truly defines our community.”
This year’s prize packages have been made possible through partnerships with several local businesses, including Visconti’s Ristorante, Scott’s Seafood, The Apex at Red Hawk Casino, Snook’s Candies, Dorothea’s Shoppe, Dave & Buster’s of Folsom, FLB Entertainment Center, and additional community partners contributing to the celebration.
