Leatherby’s Creamery, Mas Tacos, BJ’s Brewhouse broken into on Saturday

A 21-year-old man was arrested Saturday, suspected of being responsible for the break-ins and burglaries of several Folsom restaurants in the city, according the the Folsom Police Department.

In the early morning hours Saturday, Folsom Police responded to several addresses in which local eateries had fallen victim to broken windows and doors and were burglarized. The restaurants reportedly broken into included Mas Tacos located in the Folsom Palladio. BJ’s Brewhouse in the Palladio at Broadstone center and Leatherby’s Family Creamery in the Gateway shopping center on Iron Point Road.

According to the Folsom Police Department, all of the eateries were broken into by means of shattered glass doors. Each of them reported that money had been taken, including employee tips as well as miscellaneous property.  After responding to the multiple locations to investigate and review security surveillance, Folsom Police officers sought out to locate suspects in the area.

Just hours later, officers encountered Arthur Jasper, 21, of Sacramento at a Folsom area light rail station. Upon questioning and investigation of Jasper, officers located the stolen items in his possession. Jasper, who Folsom Police reported is a transient without a physical address, was booked into the Sacramento County Jail on three counts of burglary. 

According to Sacramento County Jail records Sunday morning, Jasper remained in custody and was ineligible for bail due to violation of probation. He faces three felony burglary charges and one misdemeanor charge for possession of burglary tools.
