FOLSOM — Costumes, candy, and community spirit will come together this Saturday as the Folsom Police and Fire departments host their annual Public Safety Trunk-or-Treat event, a local favorite that transforms the front parking area of the Folsom Police Department into a Halloween wonderland of lights, sirens, and family fun. The event runs October 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 46 Natoma Street and is free to attend.
Designed to provide a safe and welcoming space for children to trick-or-treat, the event allows families to collect candy from decorated patrol cars, fire trucks, and other first responder vehicles while meeting the men and women who keep Folsom safe. Visitors can explore emergency equipment, take photos with firefighters and officers, and meet members of the department’s K-9 and Mounted Units.
Children are encouraged to wear their favorite costumes, though full masks and toy weapons are not allowed for safety reasons. Parking will be available at Folsom City Hall and the Folsom Community Center, located across the street at 50 and 52 Natoma Street.

The event continues to grow each year, drawing hundreds of families who come not just for the treats, but for the chance to climb inside police cruisers, sound the sirens on fire engines, and learn more about public safety in an interactive and festive setting.
Whether it’s your child’s first Halloween or a family tradition, Trunk-or-Treat offers a safe and spirited way to kick off the spooky season — right in the heart of Folsom.
Folsom Zoo hosts Howl-O-Ween
The Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary will also be celebrating Halloween on Saturday with its annual Wild Howl-O-Ween event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is $12.99 per person, with children under 2 admitted free. Guests can follow the treat trail through the zoo, meet animal residents, and collect goodies at various stops along the way.
This family-friendly Halloween celebration features costumes, hands-on activities, and festive fun for all ages. Attendees are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite Halloween costumes to enjoy a day of animals, adventure, and seasonal excitement. Tickets can be purchased online or at the gate; advance tickets are recommended at www.folsom.ca.us/zoo.
Festifall lights up Historic Folsom
Families can make a full day of Halloween fun by heading to Historic Folsom later in the afternoon for the annual Festifall celebration, which kicks off at 1 p.m. and continues into the evening. The event features Cynthia’s Dance Center’s preview performance of Sleeping Beauty at 4 p.m. at the Zittel Family Amphitheater, followed by the Kids Costume Contest at 4:30 p.m. The lively celebration invites children to dress up and show off their creativity while enjoying the music, energy, and charm of Historic Folsom’s fall festivities.
