An investigation into the recent theft of firearms in El Dorado Hills has resulted in the arrest of two suspects by the El Dorada County Sheriff’s Department (EDSO) last week.

On March 30, a report was made by a resident in El Dorado Hills that a collection of firearms had been stolen from their property. The stolen guns include a rifle, shotgun and three handguns, adding up to a value of approximately $5,000, according to the EDSO report.

Following the report, detectives launched an investigation, utilizing information shared by multiple Sacramento County law enforcement agencies including the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Detail, California Department of Corrections Parole Agents and the Sacramento Police Department. The information identified two suspects in the case that were reportedly from the Sacramento. 

Search warrants were issued by EDSO detectives which, when executed, led to the arrests of both suspects and the retrieval of at least one of the stolen firearms. At this time, investigators are  withholding the identities of the suspects, due to the ongoing investigation.

Both were booked into county with bail set at $50,000 each. Both face charges of burglary, grand theft and conspiracy to commit a crime.
