Driver, home occupant both transported with moderate injuries

Two people were injured in Orangevale Tuesday night when a vehicle plowed into a residential structure, causing severe damage.

The collision happened just before 7:45 p..m  Tuesday on the 6700 block of Almond Avenue. After reports of the collision via a 911 call, multiple units from the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District responded to the scene. 

Upon arrival to the scene, first responders found the driver still in the vehicle that had driven through the exterior wall and into the living area of the home.  The driver was still in the vehicle and required extrication by firefighters.

Once removed from the vehicle, the driver was transported to a nearby hospital with moderate injuries. An occupant of the home was also transported for medical care, according to a report by Metro Fire the extend of injuries for both victims was considered to be moderate.
