ROSEVILLE- Two neighboring homes in a Roseville neighborhood over night Friday with one being a total loss and another severely damaged in the incident that kept multiple firefighters from the area busy into the early morning hours.
According to reports from the Placer County Sheriff’s Office, the fire initially broke out around 7:20 PM in the Cirby side neighborhood near Frances Avenue and Langley Avenue. The flames from the initial fire quickly spreading from one residential structure to adjoining outbuildings and vehicles.
Firefighters arrived to find one home fully consumed by flames, with significant heat exposure causing damage to neighboring properties including a camper and a second residence, where the roof caught fire.
No injuries were reported among residents or emergency responders. However, several animals did not survive the blaze.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation as firefighters continued their work at the scene in the early morning hours Saturday.
The firefighting effort involved resources from the Roseville Fire Department including two Battalion Chiefs, seven Engines, and three Trucks. Mutual aid was provided by the South Placer Fire District to manage the extensive emergency response. Additionally, support services from the Placer County Sheriff’s Office and American Medical Response Sacramento Valley EMS were utilized.
it was a busy night for agencies in Placer County, who were already fighting a large vegetation fire further south off Athens Way in Placer County that burned 268 acres at a fast rate or speed and threatened structures. The fire was 199 percent contained overnight.
The overnight fires were wrapped up just as firefighters across the region will face another day of red flag conditions on Saturday as high temperatures and winds are in the forecast.
