Folsom firefighters performed a water rescue operation late Christmas night, where an unresponsive man was pulled from the waters of Lake Natoma.
Units were dispatched to an area of the waterway between the Rainbow Bridge and Black Miners Bar at 10:19 p.m. following a 911 call reporting the incident.
Two engines from the Folsom Fire Department, as well as one medic unit and one rescue boat, responded to the scene in addition to Folsom police. Radio traffic at the scene Wednesday night confirmed that first responders located a male victim in the water, who was unresponsive upon being found.
First responders pulled the victim from the water and immediately performed lifesaving measures. The victim was transported to the nearby boat launch, where he was transferred to the care of Folsom’s Medic 35 and taken to a nearby hospital.
At this time, no further information is available on the victim or his condition in compliance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Oct (HIPAA) guidelines . At this time it remains unknown what led up to the incident and why he was in the cold waters at such a late hour. The incident continues to be under investigation.
