FOLSOM – Vista del Lago High School has received a major boost to its technology resources, thanks to a $20,000 shopping spree awarded through the Intel Learning Competition, “Score with Intel® Core™,” in partnership with Best Buy.
The prize, presented at the Folsom Best Buy store, will fund upgrades to Vista del Lago’s College and Career Center and provide new tools for teachers to enhance classroom learning.
Several Vista del Lago students attended the event, where they not only witnessed the donation but also participated in hands-on marketing activities—crafting sales pitches and exploring product demonstrations. As part of the celebration, many students received the very products they presented on, courtesy of the store.

Representatives from the Folsom Cordova Unified School District’s Education Technology and Information Services (ETIS) department were also on-site to support the initiative. Their role will ensure all new technology integrates seamlessly with the district’s systems, maintaining high standards for safety, reliability, and accessibility.
In a statement shared by the district, appreciation was extended to Intel, Folsom Best Buy General Manager Hiral Patel, and the store team for selecting Vista del Lago High School for this impactful partnership. The award underscores the importance of collaboration between education and industry in equipping students with the tools and experiences needed to succeed in a technology-driven world.
