The City of Folsom is calling on residents to roll up their sleeves and take part in the second annual Earth Day celebration on Saturday, April 26. The free, family-friendly event brings the community together for a day of volunteer efforts, interactive activities, and educational exhibits focused on environmental awareness and sustainability.
The celebration kicks off with a series of eco-friendly volunteer opportunities aimed at enhancing the city’s natural spaces. Participants can help clean up local creeks and trails, provide tree care and mulching, assist with fire fuel removal, or contribute to beautification efforts at the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary. While most activities are open to all ages, zoo projects require volunteers to be 18 or older.
With 400 volunteer spots available, organizers encourage community members to get involved and make a direct impact on Folsom’s environment. Those interested can learn more and sign up at www.folsom.ca.us/EarthDay.
Following the morning cleanup efforts, the celebration continues with an Earth Day Festival at Prospector Park, featuring educational exhibits, hands-on activities, and family-friendly entertainment.
The event runs from 8 to 11 a.m. for volunteer cleanup efforts, with the festival taking place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Prospector Park, located at 4578 Sparrow Drive.
