The Love My Mom 5K is just over one week away and we know everyone’s budgets are a bit tighter these days. If you haven’t signed up for this family affair yet Folsom Times has partnered with the City of Folsom to present a contest where you can win a pair of entries for the May 5 event at The Palladio.
Entering yourself for a chance to win those entries is simple, we are hosting a “mom themed” contest and drawing over on our Folsom Times Facebook page where you not only get a chance to win a pair of entries worth more than $60, you also get the chance to say something fun about your mom or something you love about being a mom. About the Folsom Love My Mom 5K run and Kids Dash
Registration is underway for a Mother’s Day week classic that returns to Folsom this for its 10th anniversary this year. It’s the annual Love My Mom 5K and Kids Dash, which is slated for Sunday, May 5, one week ahead of Mother’s Day.
This popular event that celebrates family and community is presented by Folsom Parks and Recreation in partnership with the Palladio and Kaiser Permanente.
The start and finish for the events will be located near Whole Foods in the Palladio at Broadstone center. The the course route is fast and flat, making it an ideal route for runners, walkers, and stroller striders–leashed dogs are welcome, too. The fun Kids’ Dash for ages 10 and under will be held prior to the start of the 5K, with medals awarded to all registered participants.
Participants in the 5K will be electronically timed and special awards will be presented to top finishers in a variety of categories including single and double strollers, top mom, top female, and top male. All registered 5K participants will receive a special 10th anniversary finisher’s medal and other custom swag.
The post-race festivities take place in the Palladio Piazza, with a variety of fun booths to explore, DJ music, delicious refreshments, and a raffle for high-value prizes. Save on registration: use code “CityNews” for a $5 discount on each 5K registration at raceroster.com.
