The weather outside was pretty frightful at times on Saturday, but that didn’t dampen the spirit of those that braved the wet weather and chilly temperatures to see one of the first tree lightings in the area to take place at one of Folsom’s premier shopping and dining destinations.
The festive scene took place rain or shine in the Piazza of the Palladio at Broadstone. The early event date avoided conflicts with other festivities across the region in the coming weeks and allowed residents to get into the holiday spirit at a time where more schools are kicking off Thanksgiving week break.
Despite the wet weather that soaked the region throughout the day, guests enjoyed a variety of holiday music, warm beverages, holiday cookies and a number of giveaways for children. The event culminated with the arrival of Santa Claus to the Plaza and the illumination of the beautiful tree in the center of the Piazza.
In addition to entertaining hundreds, the event kicked-off of the holiday shopping and entertainment season for over 100 retailers, restaurants and movie theaters located at the Palladio. A new addition to the Palladio this holiday season is Hilltop Christmas Trees that have a tree lot starting the day after Thanksgiving, November 24th.
Christmas Trees will be sold in the Nordstrom Rack parking lot. Palladio merchants will be open longer for the holiday season so visit gopalladio.com for more information. Those who visit the Palladio on Nov. 24 can also get a family four pass to SeaQuest, an interactive aquarium in the venue. To pick up your pass simply visit Guest Services between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m on Friday, November 24th.
