“We would like to thank all of the local businesses that came together and joined with us to collaboratively provide the largest collection of unique prizes for this year’s contest. It is the generosity of our community that truly made this event bigger and better than before. We could not have done this alone,” said Bill Sullivan, co-founder and CEO of Folsom Times and All Town Media LLC, alongside Adam Frick.
“We would also like to thank the City of Folsom for inviting us to be their partner in this spirited community event for the second consecutive year. We love being a part of this community far beyond just keeping it informed with local news.”
This marks the fourth year the City of Folsom has organized a community contest of this type. It is also the first year the event included sponsorship, thanks to the city’s partnership with Folsom Times. The partnership rallied local businesses to provide hearty prize packages and has already generated more interest for next year’s event.
The annual City of Folsom Holiday Lighting Contest began in 2020 after longtime Folsom City Council member YK Chalamcherla proposed the idea just before the holiday season. Initially a fast-paced contest during the pandemic, the event has since become an annual tradition, bringing residents and businesses together to celebrate the holidays with friendly, festive competition.
