FAIR OAKS – One person was reportedly injured and a family was displaced by a damaging structure fire to their Fair Oaks home in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Fire and medic units responded to the reported blaze on the 8600 block of Equss Lane at approximately 2:20 a.m. after a 911 call reporting the blaze. According to Sacramento Metro Fire, crews arrived on scene to a well established fire where the two story home was burning on both floors and advancing into the attic space. Details on the extent of the injuries to the civilian or how they occurred were not released.

According to fire officials, the fire began in the kitchen area of the home and quickly spread into the home’s “open air design.” The specific cause of the fire is under investigation.

The home suffered major damage in the blaze, displacing a total of three adults who lived there.
