Search underway for two male suspects
A manhunt is underway in Sacramento and some Sacramento Regional Transit Light Rail Services are limited after a deadly shooting occurred at a Sacramento Light Rail station Thursday afternoon.
According to the latest reports, Sacramento Police and the Sacramento County Sheriffs Department are searching for two suspects, both mail after they opened fire at a SacRT Light Station shortly after 3 p.m.
Initial reports say that one person was killed and two others were injured in the shooting and have been transported to area hospitals with the extent of their injuries unknown.
At least one suspect has been described as being dressed in a black hoodie and where blue jeans while other was reportedly in a grey hoodie and black jeans, according to a statement from Sacramento Police. Following the shooting, a carjacking took place at a nearby gym that may have been connected to the shooting.
Sacramento Regional Transit has issued the following details on current services that affect several lines as the investigation continues that may affect commuters using the transit with alternate routes.
University 65th Street station is now closed.
Buses that serve University and 65th Street have been moved to the Power Inn Station.
A bus bridge is in place on the Gold Line between 29th Street and Sunrise stations.
The bus bridge pick-up location for University/65th Street will be on S Street off 65th Street.
