The Pops Chorale & Orchestra has announced it will presenting Hollywood at Harris: From Stage to Screen— a gala musical experience at Folsom’s Harris Center for Arts October 7-8 and tickets are now on sale for the exciting evening of entertainment.
Each year The Pops Chorale and Orchestra / PPC Entertainment creates a unique themed concert and experience with completely new music, decor, and surprises that always delight. This year we will be highlighting incredible musical scores that evolved from live theater to the big screen.
Audience members have an opportunity to fully participate in this “Hollywood” themed-event by walking the red carpet, enjoying a flute of champagne, and interacting with characters and movie stars from their favorite films. There will be live entertainment for 45-minutes prior to the performance so it is suggested that patrons arrive early. Organizers encourage everyone to “dress to impress” as there will be lots of photo opportunities, according to the official entertainment press release.
Under the direction of Lorin Miller, our outstanding orchestra, choir, and soloists will be performing arrangements from Titanic, Fiddler on the Roof, Chicago, Westside Story, Light in the Piazza plus many more memorable musical scores from iconic to contemporary theater and movies.
Hollywood at Harris will have two different shows, the first will be Oct. 7 at 7:00 p.m. The second and final will be October 8 at 2:00 p.m. There will be a 20-minute intermission with wine-tasting from local wineries throughout the region, which is included with adult admission.

About The Chorale
The Pops Chorale, an esteemed 80-voice choral group in the greater Sacramento region, brings together multi-generational singers with exceptional talent. Under the artistic and musical guidance of Lorin Miller, they perform professional and captivating choral music, ranging from Broadway hits to big band, holiday tunes, Hollywood classics, and much more, all sung from memory.

About the Orchestra
The orchestra is an extremely gifted group of professional instrumentalists who perform throughout northern California. Coming together to either support the chorale or as a highlighted performance group, the Orchestra performs at the highest level in a myriad of musical genres. From complexed orchestral movie scores, to powerful holiday classics, to robust big band era shows, this orchestra is unequalled in the tri-county area. Transforming in size and shape to fit each performance this versatile group might be a standard large orchestra, or an intimate chambers group, or a raucous jazz band. Like the chorale, it is versatile, diverse, dynamic and grounded in the popular music of the past 75 years.
About the Artistic Director
In his twentieth year of leadership, Lorin Miller serves as the Artistic/Musical Director for The Pops Chorale & Orchestra. His expertise spans across various domains, including solo performances, music education, and choral direction. Besides his commitment to the Chorale, he’s also the executive musical director and co-founder of “A Gift of the Heart,” a Placer County initiative designed to assist local charities through performing arts. Lorin, a native of California, cultivated his passion for music in Grass Valley. His educational background includes both an undergraduate degree and a master’s degree in Humanities, focusing on music performance. After completing his education, he embarked on a solo album, touring, producing, and recording, before studying film scoring at UCLA.
Transitioning from a thriving career in Hollywood television production, Lorin has reconnected with his love for music in the Sacramento area. His performances have graced stages nationally and internationally, across Europe and Asia, covering an eclectic range of styles from Bach to Broadway. His vast solo career encompasses European tours with “A Gift of the Heart” to Slovenia, and with the Sacramento Choral Society and Orchestra to cultural hubs like Vienna, Prague, Budapest, and Munich. Additionally, he has showcased his talent as a tenor soloist with the Sacramento Choral Society and Orchestra.
About Harris Center for the Arts
Long envisioned as a critically important element for Folsom Lake College, the visual and performing arts center was initially conceived as a facility to instruct, develop, and guide talented students to become actors, musicians, dancers, visual artists, and behind-the-curtain technicians. The scope and size of the Center expanded significantly with a 2003 feasibility study which validated the need for a facility that could also serve as a regional arts center for the greater community.
In 2004, the project proposal approved by the Los Rios Board of Trustees was submitted to the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office for final funding approval in the 2005-06 budget year. Construction of the $50 million project began in July 2008, supported by a State Educational Facilities General Obligation Bond, Local Measure A Bond, other District resources, and donations to the Folsom Lake College Foundation.
In February, 2011, the Center opened as “Three Stages at Folsom Lake College” and by the end of its second full season it had already attracted over 300,000 patrons to its offerings. In August, 2012, the Los Rios District Board of Directors announced the renaming of the facility to the “Harris Center for the Arts,” honoring Chancellor Emeritus Brice Harris who, during his tenure, oversaw a doubling of the size of the District, including the development of Folsom Lake College. He, together with then President of the College Thelma Scott-Skillman, was perhaps most responsible for seeing the vision of a Regional Performing Arts Center for the community realized.
The 80,000-square-foot center includes three stages and is located at Folsom Lake College. Before Covid-19, it hosted more than 400 events per year. The venue, initially called Three Stages at Folsom Lake College, opened in 201
