One of Historic Folsom’s entertainment venues has announced it is closing its doors at the end of the month. Escape Folsom, a restaurant that offers escape room experiences announced it will be closing its doors for good as of Sept. 30.

Last Friday, the management of the venue issues a statement on its social media page announcing the closure, citing that they have been unable to negotiate a lease renewal for the business that is located at 727 Traders Lane, just a few steps down the hill from historic Sutter Street.

“It’s with a heavy heart that we are letting everyone know that Escape Folsom will be closing their doors on Sept 30. Our lease isn’t being renewed but we will be open for our normal hours until the end of the month,” reads a portion of the company’s announcement, that encouraged those wishing to make one final escape to book their reservations now. “We love our customers and a lot of you have become our second family. It’s very hard for us to walk away. We love this building, business and everyone that has been with us through the years.”

Pip Kennedy is the general manager of the business. Kennedy is not open to sharing details regarding the specific details forcing the closure behind that of the public announcement they posted.

“We wish to not go into details. We are not sure what the future holds for Escape Folsom,” Kennedy cited to the media inquiries that followed the closure announcement. “At this point we are just trying to get through the month. We would like to thank all of our customers and guests that have been with us over the past five and a half years.”

Escape Folsom first opened its doors in 2018 when three gentleman Jim Corbett, Garrett Call and Jim Carey had a vision and put their creativity to make it become reality.  724 Sutter LLC is current registered owner of the property. The name references the space on the back side of 727 Traders Lane which is 724 Sutter Street and home to a different tenant and business.
