Those planning to travel Highway 99 near Galt or Lodi are being advised to find alternative routes this evening after a fatal crash has closed the southbound lanes near Galt.
The California Highway Patrol has reported that at least one person has been killed and others are injured after a semi-truck and a sedan that drove off an overcrossing where it was struck by the semi truck and trailer on Highway 99 around 5:30 pm.
The South Sacramento Division of the California Highway Patrol stated that the incident took place on C Street and that they are redirecting southbound traffic to the Central Galt exit.
Portions of the Highway are expected to be closed for some time as clearing of the incident and the investigation is ongoing.
There is no additional information on the accident at this time.
