The El Dorado Hills Fire Department responded to a grass fire Tuesday morning off of Wetzel Oviatt Road, south of the El Dorado Hills Business park.

The fire reportedly started after a bird struck a power line above the dry grassy area. The fire was contained to a quarter acre after a quick response and knock down  by firefighters.

Firefighters want to remind everyone that fire season is upon us and as the vegetation dries out in these higher temperature days, insuring your home has defensible space around it is essential.
