The Folsom Police Department continues to recruit top officers and staff its force in an effort to make sure the city is well served when it comes to safety in the community. After a series of retirements over the past two years, the city has been working with less officers than they were originally budgeted for. 

This week, two new faces have joined the department

The newest additions to the department are Officers Bethany Ulm and Nancy Ramos.

Officer Ulm was born in nearby Placerville. After graduating from home school, she attended California State University (CSU) Sacramento where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice.

While attending college Officer Ulm worked at the Placerville Police Department as a Community Service Officer (CSO).  After two years with Placerville Department, Officer Ulm was hired with the Sacramento Police Department as a CSO until she attended to the basic police academy.   Upon graduation at the academy Officer Ulm worked as a police officer assigned to patrol until joining the Folsom Police Department. 

Officer Ramos was born in San Jose.  She graduated high school in 2016 and went on to get her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from CSU Sacramento.  In 2018 Officer Ramos was hired joined the force of the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office as a Cadet.  

In 2020 Officer Ramos was promoted to Deputy Sheriff and attended the basic police academy at the Stanislaus Regional training academy.   Upon graduation Officer Ramos was assigned to patrol operations.  During her time with the department, she assisted with four different human trafficking operations.
