At its most recent meeting, the Folsom Arts & Cultural Commission recognized a local artist and multiple dance performers for their talents and recent accomplishments
Folsom resident Rita Thirunahari and locally based Theory Dance were presented with Arts and Culture Commission Certificates of Recognition for Visual Arts.
A Sophomore at Vista Del Lago High School, Thirunahari is an accomplished artist who has had her work recognized at the Rancho Cordova City Art Exhibition as well as the Congressional Art Competition, where her was displayed in the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C.
Theory Dance is a local dance program that teaches the fundamentals of hip-hop with the goal of building confidence in youth. Theory Dance has performed at numerous local events, including the first Folsom Tree Lighting event & the dance teams have performed at local school events that help foster community engagement.
The Folsom Parks & Recreation Department and the Arts & Culture Commission congratulate these incredible artists for their community engagement & development of youth.
Nominations for the 2023 Arts Achievement Awards Recognition will open in Fall 2023.
