The community of Folsom is well known for its love of youth sports as well as live music. Now, those two local favorites are coming together all for a good cause.
On April 22, Take Me Out is bringing a stellar line-up of well-known country artists to the stage, all to benefit youth sports in the form of a family-friendly Cornhole Tourney and live music event on the grounds of Lakeside Church, at 750 Oak Avenue Parkway.
The event is being produced by Wildwood Performing Arts Foundation to benefit youth arts programs, as well as Bandits Baseball, a local youth baseball nonprofit organization.
According to Wildwood Performing Arts Executive Director Sunny Mitchell, attendees to the benefit event can enter to win the cornhole tourney for a chance at cash and swag prizes while they enjoy the live music throughout the entire event, with some of the area’s finest musicians as well some of the foundation’s youth artists.
According to Mitchell, the music line up for the event includes Nashville singer-songwriter Kevin Marcy along with SSM Nashville recording artist Cynthia Renee; Doug Colosio, a keyboardist who has played with Merle Haggard’s and Kris Kristofferson’s The Strangers; country artist Geoffrey Miller. Bluegrass and country artist Matt Dudman as well as Mitchell herself, a country roots artist. Several local youth artists will also be taking the stage for a set.
Local beer and wine, as well as non-alcoholic beverages will be offered throughout the entire event, along with tasty fare from local food trucks that will be on site and ready to serve you.
Kids games, including cornhole sets just for our younger patrons will be available, so sign up to play cornhole OR for $5, just bring your own lawn chair, sit back, relax, and have a great day supporting youth arts education and youth sports.
General admission tickets for the event are $5, children 12 and under are free. Those looking to enter the Cornhole Tourney, registration is $100 for a team of two. The event begins at 2 p.m. and runs to approximately 7:30 p.m. on April 22.
