An El Dorado County School was evacuated following a bomb threat Friday morning, according to the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Department.
At 7:56 a.m. on Friday deputies responded to the Providence Christian School in Shingle Springs after school officials reported a bomb threat. The threat reportedly came in the form of an email. Specific details of the email have not been released but the department is reporting that the threat was sent to numerous other email recipients.
El Dorado County Sheriff’s Deputies and School Resource Officers responded to the scene and evacuated all school staff and students at the school. School Resource Officers and Deputies then conducted a systematic search of the campus to search for any dangerous devices.
Deputies have concluded the search of the school and did not locate anything suspicious and out of the ordinary. Evacuated students were released back to the Providence Christian School staff to return to the building.
The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Department shared that the Tahoe Prep Academy located in South Lake Tahoe also received the same email. Deputies working in the Tahoe basin responded to the school to ensure that all staff and students were safe and no device or threat was found.
The threats remain under investigation by the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Department.
