An El Dorado County elementary school principal was arrested early Tuesday for alleged of cybercrimes against children, according to a statement from the El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office. 

Boyd Holler, 37, was arrested on charges of sending “harmful matter to a minor and contacting or communicating with a minor for the purpose of engaging in lewd and lascivious behavior,” according to the report.

Holler is the principal of the Pioneer Elementary School in Somerset. He was arrested Tuesday morning at his residence in Pollock Pines, according to the El Dorado County District.

At this time, it has not been released as to how many victims there may be and their locations. As of today, Holler has been placed on leave as the investigation moves forward. The school and the district will continue to work with the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Department.

The District Attorney’s Office is asking the community for any information that could be related to Holler and other incidents in which minors may have been a victim’ in any way.  

“Holler’s arrest is the result of a joint cybercrimes investigation conducted by the FBI Violent Crimes Against Children Task Force and the El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office,” reads a statement from the District Attorney’s Office. “Anyone who has information related to this investigation is encouraged to contact the El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office at https://www.eldoradoda.com/pioneerschool/.”
