The caps and gowns have been packed away, the celebratory dinners are merely leftovers now as the local classes of 2023 within the Folsom Cordova Unified School District (FCUSD) have all completed their graduation ceremonies and summer vacation time has arrived.
This year, with the combined efforts of Folsom Times and Folsom TV with its partnership with the FCUSD, three area high school graduations were live streamed. It was the first time a local news outlet carried the full livestreams of not only one high school graduation, but three of them, two of which took place on the same night.
The live-streaming of local graduation ceremonies not only offered a solution for those who were unable to attend locally due to seating restrictions, health issues or mobility, it also offered the graduates extended families to enjoy the milestone moments of their grandchildren, nieces, nephews and siblings across the country. Over 10,000 viewers combined took advantage of this unique opportunity that Folsom Times and Folsom TV are proud to be part of and that number of viewers Conroe us to rise on demand.
“I have gotten so much feedback from families across the country this week on the live-streaming of these graduations, people as far away as India have reached out to me, it’s a great thing to have this,” said Folsom Vice Mayor YK Chalamcherla. “People always enjoy photos of these moments,” but now they want to see it happening in action and be able to see it like this.”
