Units from two agencies were quickly on the scene of a structure fire in Folsom Thursday afternoon, saving a home from heavy damage with an aggressive attack on a fire that was moving quickly upon arrival. The incident is located on the 240 block of Baurer Court in Folsom. 

Units from the Folsom Fire Department were originally dispatched to the incident at 3:47 p.m. Thursday. Moments later, additional units were dispatched to the scene, including mutual aid from El Dorado Hills.

Incident radio traffic reported that firefighters arrived to a working a structure at the home that was heavily charged with smoke upon arrival. Firefighters made an aggressive attack on the fire and had ventilated the attic by 4:08 p.m. and had completely contained the fire by 4:14 p.m. By 4:20p.m. crews were beginning salvage of interior belongings and ordering board up for the areas of the home that were damaged in the incident.

Folsom’s truck 35 is on scene as well as engines 38, 39, 3405 and two medic units. Units from El Dorado Hills dispatched to the scene include engine 84 and truck 85. Two Folsom Medic units are also on the incident.

According to one of the residents on scene, the fire started in the laundry room and spread to the attic area. The resident was able to evacuate safely along with the family pets.
