Units from the Folsom Fire Department and Folsom Police responded to a reported vegetation along the American River Parkway near the area of Folsom Boulevard early Wednesday morning.
At 6:21 a.m. Wednesday morning, Folsom Fire was dispatched to the scene in the area of 2484 American River Parkway, near the area of the Willow Creek boat launch.
Upon arrival, firefighters reported a small vegetation fire which was contained quickly by the two engines that responded to the incident.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.The area is known to be a popular location for homeless encampments in the past. This is the second fire along the local trails in less than a week.
