A groups of local Girl Scouts pitched in to help those less fortunate in Folsom this past week with a special contribution to the Twin Lakes Food Bank.
The Girl Scouts from Brownie Troop 4072, donated 12 birthday kits to the food bank.
The second and third grade girls from local Folsom elementary schools packaged the kits in brown paper gift bags that they each decorated with stickers.
Each birthday kit includes cake mix, frosting, candles and a toy that the food bank gifts to its clients’ children with a birthday within the month of their visit to the food bank.
“Thanks Troop 4072 for providing a little joy to families going through tough times,” said Twin Lakes Food Bank in a social media thank you post Monday.
