Lakeside Church, District Church hosts tracks for 2023
Bike riding is an important activity for childhood development. It can help children to develop coordination and balance, as well as build their confidence and sense of adventure. Riding a bike allows children to explore the outdoors and interact with their environment in a safe and healthy way. It can also help children to develop social skills, as they learn to interact with other children who are bike riding in their area. Additionally, bike riding is a great form of exercise, which can help to improve physical health and mental well being. All in all, bike riding can be an incredibly beneficial activity for children of all ages.
“The Folsom Grom Race Series provides groms in 8th grade and under with the opportunity to learn the ropes of mountain bike racing in a safe, fun environment. The series features six weeknight races in the spring and fall on specially built flow trails at Lakeside Church in Folsom and District Church in El Dorado Hills. Juniors experience the camaraderie of racing alongside their peers with elementary school and 678 middle school specific categories.”
(Grom: The shortened form of grommet, also describing a young mountain biker who tears it up on the trails.) 678 JR HIGH MTB
“Moving from elementary to middle school is a defined step when growing up, and in a similar way we recognize a difference in the way 6th-8th graders ride, race and socialize on their bikes vs. elementary school “Groms.” Life moves to the next level, and so should the options they have for riding. The 678 Jr High MTB Ride Club provides an opportunity for middle school kids to take their riding skill, fitness and social experience to the next level.”
678 is offered twice a year in the spring and fall. The Spring 2023 club will kick off on March 8, 2023 and includes 8 weeks of rides on Tuesdays and Wednesdays plus optional “Mechanic Mondays.”
Spring 2023 Series Dates: Thursday nights March 16, 23, & 30 at Lakeside Church; April 13, 20, & 27 at District Church
