As the season nears its end, Folsom Lake College is in control of their own destiny. After some recent big wins, the Falcons must continue their winning ways to build momentum into the playoffs. With only one game this week, and a whole week of rest and preparation, the Falcons take care of business on the road beating Cosumnes River College 67-50.

After a great first quarter, the Falcons led 23-11. Defense and timely three-pointers led the charge in the first. But some stagnation came in the second quarter as the Hawks outscored the Falcons 16-7, resulting in an all to close 30-27 lead heading into halftime.

A regrouping in the locker room inspired the Falcons as they dominated the third quarter. Alysa Lopez took it personally and scored 13 points herself in the quarter. Even CRC’s Twitter page acknowledged it with their tweet, “#10 for FLC is on fire, Falcons have upped their lead to 49-34…” The collective alignment of sticking to defense allowed the Falcons to regain control and finish the second half the way they started, out-scoring the Hawks 37-23.

Alysa Lopez led the charge with 21 points, hitting five three-pointers in the process. Eva Graf had productive minutes off the bench securing 8 big rebounds, 5 of which were on the offensive glass. Corrie Harrison who’s known for her rebounding dominance, flipped the script and had a team-high 6 assists while contributing an efficient 8 points on 4-6 shooting. The best part of the night was that the Falcons assisted on 23 of 25 shots from the field, sharing the ball and always finding the open teammate.
