Folsom Police made an arrest of a Rancho Cordova man Tuesday afternoon on multiple felony firearm and drug charges.
According to their report, detectives from the Folsom Police Special Investigations Unit arranged to meet with a subject that was attempting to sell a homemade firearm. The subject also agreed to sell Fentanyl to the detectives.
When the subject arrived to the meeting location and quickly taken into custody. During a search of his vehicle detectives located the makeshift firearm, known as a zip gun, along with the Fentanyl he planned on selling to the undercover units.
Joshua Gelfand, 34, of Rancho Cordova was on reportedly on probation for extensive narcotic sales and gun related history.
Due to his prior convictions, Gelfand was reportedly prohibited from possessing firearms. Gelfand was booked at the Sacramento County Main Jail on multiple charges for transportation and sales of a controlled substance, along with several felony firearm related charges.
In order to show the homemade gun was in working condition, a less than lethal bean bag round was used to successfully test fire the device by officers.
