Volunteers have been busy the last couple of days at the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary, transforming it into a magical place for the holiday season. It’s known as Wild Night’s and Holiday Lights and it all starts Friday night.

Presented by the Folsom Parks and Recreation Department, this annual family friendly event returns for its 13th year with thousands of bright lights, sparkling ornaments, trees, lighted animal figures, and displays transforming the zoo sanctuary with holiday spirit. It’s the one event that gets you into the zoo after dark, something many always want to do.

In addition to the visual delights, there will also be local caroling groups and musicians providing merry sounds of the season. The nearby Folsom Valley Railway scale train will also be offering special nighttime rides.

The event is open on select nights beginning Friday night, Dec. 1 from 5 to 8:30 p.m.  Therafter, it will continue on December 2, 8, 9 and 15-22, weather permitting as heavy rains will cancel the event at times. All proceeds from the event benefit the zoo sanctuary animals.
