As its full marquee of shows enters the holiday season, Harris Center for the Arts has announced it is bringing even more cheer to its audiences this year. Last week, it was announced that Folsom’s premier entertainment venue will be added beer and wine to a number of select shows through the holidays. 

In a partnership with Dad’s Kitchen of Fair Oaks, Harris Center for the Arts will be offering a selection of locally-crafted beer and local regional wines for purchase at select events. Located on the campus of Folsom Lake College, the serving of beer and wine hasn’t taken place at Harris Center for the Arts previously, with the exception of select private events.  The added feature is something that has been commonly requested by patrons taking in a show and now they making that happen at least for the holiday season.

While beer and wine will be available for many of its productions in the months to come, it will be limited to select shows.  Those interested in learning if their preferred show will be serviing up spirits can do so just by visiting the Harris Center website and look for the the “Harris Center Beer and Wine” insignia on each of the shows the amenity applies to.

One of the first shows fans can sip and spectate at will be as early as this week as Harris Center for the Arts presents “On Your Feet!” The Story of Emilio and Gloria Estefan. The show opens this Thursday, Nov. 2 and runs through Nov. 5. The high profile production is the first of four shows in the venue’s 2023-24 Broadway Series.

Gaby Albo and Samuel Garnica will star as Gloria and Emilio Estefan in the brand-new national touring production of the smash hit Broadway musical. The production is directed and choreographed by Luis Salgado.

“On Your Feet!” is the story of Emilio and Gloria Estefan, two people who — through an unwavering dedication to one another and their pursuit of the American dream — showcased their talent, their music and their heritage to the world in a remarkable rise to global superstardom.

Featuring a six-piece band and original musical tracks performed and produced by Miami Sound Machine, with music by Emilio Estefan, Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine, including Grammy Award winning songs “The Rhythm is Gonna Get You,” “Conga,” “Anything for You,” “1-2-3,” “Get On Your Feet” and “Here We Are,” audience members should prepare to be on their feet from start to finish.

Albo and Garnica starred in the critically acclaimed world premiere of “On Your Feet!” in Spanish at the GALA Hispanic Theatre in Washington, D.C., directed and choreographed by Salgado, where both earned rave reviews from audiences and critics alike. 

“Gaby and Samuel have the deepest work ethic and kindness. She commits one hundred percent to her artistic process and exploration. He balances the hunger, desire, and love that exist in his character. This is the caliber of artist I want to have on this tour, and I’m thrilled to have them as our leads,” said Salgado.

Performances are scheduled at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Sunday, Nov. 2-5, with 2 p.m. matinées Nov. 4 & 5 at Harris Center for the Arts, 10 College Parkway in Folsom.
