Undoubtedly, fall is one of Choose Folsom’s busier seasons – and one of my favorites for that reason. It’s an exciting time of year for us as we plan and execute several events and continue to develop our business and those of our community.

But there’s more than that to celebrate, including:

Meet the Leaders

It was terrific to see such an excellent turnout for our Meet the Leaders event earlier this month. Congressman Kevin Kiley and Assemblyman Josh Hoover discussed the challenges that California faces, from the fentanyl crisis to the economy.

We also learned about small business legislation that affects the Folsom community, including wage increases for hospital employees and the importance of preventing unemployment insurance fund deficits.

Last week the Choose Folsom team and I joined colleagues in Rancho Cordova for the grand opening of the region’s newest asset in innovation and entrepreneurship.

Congratulations to ThermoGenesis Holdings, Inc. on the launch of your ReadyStart Cleanrooms and IncuStart Wet Labs to “eliminate barriers and accelerate innovation” in life saving technologies.

We look forward to working together to attract life science entrepreneurs and companies to the Highway 50 corridor and the region.

Biotech Skincare Lab Seeks IPO Funding

ELEVAI Labs Inc., whose research and development laboratories are based in Folsom, is on the road to an IPO. The biotech skincare product manufacturer wants to raise $6.9 million, with 1.5 million shares priced between $4-6. It has previous experience raising capital, having raised $1.1 million in a seed round and $3 million last November.

Foothill Wine Fest Reminder – Saturday, November 11

As I mentioned in my last article, the Foothill Wine Fest is around the corner and promises to be a memorable evening. Tickets are going fast, so if you still need to purchase yours, I strongly recommend doing it soon.

My suggestion? The VIP experience is well worth the investment.

Look forward to seeing you there.
