A popular burger chain will be joining the growing list of restaurants and retailers in the Folsom Ranch community, south of highway 50. The Habit Burger Grill has announced it will become part of the rising retail center known as The Shops at Folsom Ranch.

The Habit is not new to the Folsom area. This will be the second Folsom location for the company that has 13 different spots in the Sacramento area. Their current successful Folsom location is 1115 East Bidwell Street near Blue Ravine Road.

The Habit is known as a “fast-casual,” style restaurant chain known. They are known for a variety of fresh-made char-grilled style burgers. Their burger menu includes beef burgers, those made from portabella mushrooms, an impossible burger and more.  They also offer a number of typical side dishes from fries, tots and onion rings to fried green beans and more.

In addition to burgers, the company dishes out salads, chicken sandwiches, frozen treats and offers family bundles. They also offer kids meals at all of their locations.

The Habit franchise began in Santa Barbara where their cite their brand was “inspired by the coastal town’s laid back vibrancy and passion for culinary exploration, that formed what they refer to as the love of the craft,” according to its company website. The company began as a single diner and today is offered to franchisees and owned by Yum Brands.

According to materials supplied by The Edwards Company, representing The Shops. The Habit has signed on to fill a self-standing building that will be 2,800 square feet when completed. The site is at East Bidwell and Old Ranch Way at the southern end of the center.  No opening date has been projected, the building has yet to rise from the ground.

The Shops at Folsom have signed a variety of retail and service providers, according to Edwards. Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop was recently the first eatery to open its doors. Capriotti’s early beginnings stem back to 1976 in Delaware when siblings Lois and Alan Margolet wanted to create something unique while honoring a family heritage.

Today, they are still known for their whole roast turkeys, meats, cheeses, and fresh rolls they build their sandwiches on. The Folsom franchise location is owned and operated by Scott Crouch, a longtime Folsom resident and former Intel employee.

Bento Box is set to occupy a 4,501 square foot space on the northeast corner of the center. Bento Box currently has three locations in the Sacramento area. The chain is known for its popular teriyaki plates, sushi rolls and more. It has been a popular eatery near Sacramento State University, Midtown and in the Arden-Arcade area.

Immediately next door to Bento Box will be a pizzeria known as Slice House. Slice House has been a growing franchise throughout California. It is often found near or inside many sports venues. It is the brainchild of Tony Gemignani, who previously was known as the originator of the former Pizza Rock in Sacramento.  Slice House will occupy 1,505 square feet of the center.

A Nail Resort is already located next to Capriotti’s. The center will also be home to a Starbucks, a Family Pet Hospital, a Chevron Station and more as they still have vacancies, according to Edwards.
