Soroptimists International of Folsom/El Dorado Hills as officially installed new officers, according to an announcement from the organization. 

Gathering for a luncheon at Bacchus House in Folsom, the new officers that were installed for 2023-24 included Lorrie Papadakis, vice president; Helga Griffith, secretary;  Norma  Rash, director; Amee Ankney, treasurer; Bea Crosson, president. 

Soroptimist is an international volunteer organization working to improve the lives of women and girls, in local communities and throughout the world. Over 80,000 Soroptimists in about 120 countries and territories volunteer time and contribute financial support to community–based and international projects that benefit women and girls. 

The name, Soroptimist, means “best for women,” and that’s what the organization strives to achieve. Soroptimists are women at their best, working to help other women to be their best. Soroptimist programs include “Dream It, Be It: Career Support for Girls” and “Live Your Dream: Education and Training Awards for Women.” Additional club level projects range from anti-trafficking awareness and victim support to Dress a Girl Around the World sewing projects.
