Historic Folsom is going to the dogs, at least that’s the case for a few ours this Sunday, Oct. 15. It’s known as Pawtoberfest and much like the name eludes, it’s a free dog friendly family event packed with fun, contests and more from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Taking place at the Zittel Family Amphitheater in the heart of Historic Folsom, Pawtoberfest is presented by popular pet retailer Ben’s Barketplace.  A portion of the proceeds from the event is slated to benefit the local Hearts 4 Heroes USA Paw Platoon placement program.

Hearts 4 Heroes USA is a locally based non-profit that strives to provide firefighters, EMTs, and EMS nationwide with the care and support they deserve, specializing in the providing of emotional support dogs to first responder agencies.

The organization was founded by firefighters and emergency medical services members. We work with passionate people who want to help first responders by supporting them with their mental health needs. You can learn more about the organizations at www.hearts4heroes.com

Sunday’s event offers free admission for those that want to come check out the festivities, visit with local vendors and watch exhibitions and see costumed humans and pets in action. Did we just say costumed pets?  Yes we did!  The event features a pet costume contest as one of its many festivities.

Those interested in participating in the pet custom contest can do so by pre-registering for the event online prior to the day of the event at the OFFICIAL EVENT PAGE BY CLICKING HERE.
