Although the pandemic is in the rearview mirror, its impacts are unfortunately still very present. We can still see the scars that COVID-19 left on businesses across various industries in the region and beyond.

We at Choose Folsom wanted to find a way to assist our business community. Enter Project Momentum, developed in partnership our friends at the Northern California Innovation District. It’s a unique and personalized business accelerator program designed to support companies that have been affected by the pandemic. One that I’m really excited to launch.

We created a thoughtful approach to Project Momentum, which features the following phases:


Introduction and Assessment: The first step is an in-depth analysis of your current business status, challenges, and goals. We’ll help you set short-term and long-term objectives for your business.

Strategy Development: Our Navigator team will help you develop your strategy, which requires understanding your market, competitors, and customer needs, refining your business model, and developing a tailored strategic plan.


Skill Enhancement and Knowledge Building: This phase allows you to identify and address key skill gaps in your team through expert-led workshops and access to a curated library of online courses.

Networking and Connections: Making connections is a personal favorite. Our team will foster connections with the people who can best provide valuable insights and support, such as industry leaders, experienced mentors, and fellow entrepreneurs.

Implementation and Execution: I like to call this the “Just Do It” stage. It’s when you get to turn strategies into actionable steps with regular check-ins and guidance from your Navigator.

Growth and Scaling: Growth is a natural step, but it requires thought and planning. Your Navigator will help you with sustainable scaling strategies, investor-readiness training, and market expansion planning. 

Review and Refinement: Accountability is key to any business strategy, and that’s why this phase can’t be understated. Here you’ll analyze outcomes, use feedback to improve, and plan for long-term success.

Graduation and Beyond: Once you’ve completed all these phases, it’s time to celebrate your achievements! At this point you’ll also gain access to our alumni network and continue receiving post-program support.
