Motorists traveling south of Highway 50 between Folsom and Rancho Murieta will notice a change of scenery and improved traffic flow now as the Scott Road Extension Project is now complete.

The recently completed project connects Scott Road directly to the Prairie City Road and White Rock Road intersection. The new segment of roadway adds a new roundabout that connects to Gate 4 of the Prairie City State Vehicular Recreation Area. The project also includes a new traffic signal and improved intersections.

The new Scott Road connects to the new Folsom segment of the Capital SouthEast Connector, which is a planned 34-mile expressway that will eventually connect Interstate 5 in Elk Grove to Highway 50 in El Dorado County.

White Rock Road from Prairie City Road to East Bidwell Street was recently reconstructed into a safer, higher-capacity four-lane expressway now open to motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians.

The additional segments have yet to be improved between Folsom and El Dorado Hills as well as the southern leg that travels through southern Rancho Cordova into Elk Grove.
